Everyone on your team has a story: tell those stories with agent bios

First impressions matter.

Whether potential clients discover you through social media, word of mouth, or organically through Google, you always want to make sure that you’re putting your best foot forward.

When someone discovers you for the first time, they’ll have a few questions.

Is this agent trustworthy?

Are they experienced?

Are they in touch with their local community?

Why should I call this agent over another one I heard about?

Do they specialize in anything such as high-priced properties, investment properties, or multi-family units?

Will I even like them or want to work with them?

This is why a real estate agent bio is so important — and that’s exactly why we developed our Agent Bio product.

At Rolla, we know that an effective agent bio is more than just about showcasing your credentials. It’s about giving prospects an inside look at your personality, skills, and voice.

In other words, our Agent Bio product is all about storytelling.

Why?

Because everyone on your team has a story to tell.

We already know that agents are qualified and credentialed, or else they wouldn’t be on your team in the first place. But what makes them unique? What life experiences do they have that shape their perspectives and insights? Why did they choose to get involved in real estate in the first place?

These stories matter and they differentiate you from competitors in your market.

Each member of your team brings unique experiences, perspectives, and specialties. Our Agent Bio product is the perfect opportunity to highlight their value to the team.

All it takes is a short and intentional video to introduce each agent.

Below are some tips to make the most out of your Agent Bio videos:

1. Connect on a personal level. Credentials and experience are important, but buyers and sellers want to work with someone personable, not someone generically promoting themself via junk mail. Make sure that your bio accurately reflects who you are outside of work. For example, what are your interests? What is something unique about you? Of course, you don’t want to talk about a tangent completely unrelated to real estate, but if prospects can connect the dots between what’s important to them and what’s important to you, they’re more likely to get in touch. So, don’t be afraid to talk about the activities and causes that are important to you away from work!

2. Show that you are a leader. It’s no secret that a home is the largest purchase that most people will ever make. They want to work with an agent who will lead them through one of the biggest decisions in their lives. This decision will impact where they live, work, and shape their financial future. How are you a leader in real estate? Are you a leader in your community? Find a natural way to showcase this trait in your bio!

3. Tell stories about your community. Real estate is a local business. If you can underscore your knowledge, familiarity, and connection with your local community, people will want to work with you! For example, did you grow up in your community? Or did you move there? If you relocated there as an adult, what attracted you to the city or what do you like about it? Remember, your target audience is composed of people who are members of their local community. Even if they’re moving to a new city, they’ll want to get plugged in and form new relationships. Sharing your connection with your community not only shows that you’re an expert in local matters, it also advocates for your community itself.

4. Highlight your expertise. While it’s important to connect with your audience, it’s also important to emphasize the unique, insightful value that you provide to your clients. What can you offer that your competitors don’t? If you can position yourself as an expert on a particular subject matter (such as investment properties) that’s even better! Of course, no one likes people who brag, so it’s a fine line to walk. However, if you have an accomplishment that’s noteworthy, then don’t be afraid to talk about it!

Here’s the best part:

Everyone on your team can create an Agent Bio after reading those four tips, and every video is still going to be completely unique. Everyone has a story to tell.

The beauty of being on a team is that you can tell multiple stories — and those stories come together to become the team’s story. This results in a stronger brand, which makes you more desirable to buyers and sellers.

With our Agent Bio product, you can “break the ice” with your audience and attract qualified leads.

Rolla is here to guide you through the process and to help you tell your story in the most compelling way possible!
